“I care so much about nature. Centering wildlife and plants in art is my way of doing something. Highlighting. Shining light on critters we may well loose.”

Katarina Viridis
Artist

There is so much i want to say. I want to talk about connecting to nature as a young kid riding horses in the mountains. I want to talk about the dread i felt during biology classes when our teacher first told us about acid rain and climate change. But, most of all, i want to talk about the growing restlessness and urge to do something about the decline of our natural world.
Despite all of the information and data showing human impact on extinction levels, very little is done. In fact, year on year, things are getting worse.
My mission is to bring as much awareness as i possibly can to the plight of nature. Whether it be through my art, everyday actions and life in general.
My dream is to, one day, buy a property in need of rehabilitation. Just like bringing paintings to life, i want to make cleared, decimated landscapes into thriving habitats once again.
